Upload to Zoopy just by supplying a URL

In an effort to make uploading even easier, Zoopy brings you functionality to upload your files passively, and without using one byte of bandwidth.  All you have to do is put your media item on your own webserver, and supply Zoopy with the URL.

To upload by URL, please go to http://www.zoopy.com/upload/url, and fill in the URL of your media item.  You may choose whether or not to receive alerts by email as well.  Please note that only http:// and https:// URLs will be accepted, and that the URL should point directly to a media file and not to a web page.

After submitting, your URL will be verified, and a mail will be sent to you once the file has been fetched.

Zoopy now has the following ways to upload:

  1. Via www.zoopy.com, using our Flash uploader
  2. Via www.zoopy.com, using our plain old HTML upload
  3. Via m.zoopy.com
  4. Via email (check out your profile Settings tab)
  5. Via URL

Upload your media to Zoopy via email

It’s now even easier to upload your media to Zoopy.  And all it takes is an email!

To activate email uploads, go to your Settings tab in your profile, and click on ‘Email uploads’.  There you will see your personalized upload email address.  Make sure to keep it safe!  All you need to do to submit an email upload is attach your media to an email, fill in a subject (title) and body (description), and hit send.

You can also set up default publish settings for your email uploads.  To do so, choose your settings in the form under ‘Email uploads’, and click Submit.

As with normal uploads, you can choose to share your upload on Twitter and/or Facebook.  To change your auto-sharing settings, click on ‘Auto-sharing: Twitter’ or ‘Auto-sharing: Facebook’ on this page.

If your email upload does not succeed, either because it had no valid attachments or because you’ve sent to an invalid email upload address, you’ll shortly receive an email with more details.  If your email upload succeeds, you’ll receive an email with a breakdown of your media items’ new URLs.

Please feel free to leave your feedback/questions in a comment below, or contact us from the Zoopy website.

Use your own logo in your Zoopy videos

Last night I added functionality to your Zoopy profile which allows you to upload an image to use as a logo in all videos which you upload.  If you upload an image, it’ll be displayed in the bottom right corner of the Zoopy video player wherever it’s embedded,  on- or offsite.

To upload your own logo, click on your profile’s Settings tab, and click on Video settings.

Select a file to upload, and fill in a URL to send users to when they click on your logo.  Transparent GIFs and 24-bit PNGs are supported for transparency.  When finished, click Submit.

If you open your Video settings again, you’ll see a preview of your logo.  The logo will now show whenever a video of yours is embedded with the Zoopy player.

It’s that easy!

You’ll notice, also, that the Settings tab has been redesigned.  This move was required in order to bring you this new feature on Zoopy, as well as all the rich functionality that is on its way.
